BROOKLYN, MI (Pittsburgh Racing Now) – Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kurt Busch and Kyle Larson both qualified in the top 20 for Sunday’s Consumers Energy 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race (MENCS) at Michigan International Speedway (MIS).
Busch qualified the No. 1 Camaro in the 15th spot and Larson put the No. 42 McDonald’s Camaro 19th on the grid. Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski is on the pole with Stewart Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick on the outside of the front row.
Busch finished second in the first race at Michigan this year in June. Busch is making his 38th career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race at 2-mile D-shaped oval. Busch has finished 12th or better in the last seven races at MIS and has three career MENCS wins, having led 494-laps in his previous 37-starts.
Larson is making his 12th career MENCS start at MIS. Larson has 3-wins, 1-pole, 4-top 5’s and 5-top 10’s at the track. Larson has led 150-laps and completed 94.9% of the race laps. Larson has the fourth best driver rating among active drivers at Michigan.
